Hamilton Library Open House

Free, family-friendly Open House at Hamilton Library on August 22nd!

Honolulu ~ Ever wonder what became of the ground floor of UH Mānoa’s Hamilton Library after a flash flood tore through it on October 30, 2004?  For the first time in six years, the public will have the opportunity to view the newly renovated 57,000-square-foot ground floor at a free open house event on Sunday, August 22, from 2-4 p.m.

The reconstructed ground floor is the new home of the Government Documents, Maps Collections, the Library’s Collections Services, MAGIS, and the Department of Information and Computer Science’s Library and Information Sciences program.

Tours of the ground floor and the Library’s special collections will be available, as well as light snacks in the Sunny Alcove, bookmark takeaways, commemorative card sets and logo items for sale in the Library Shop.  A hotdog vendor will be outside Hamilton’s front door for those who would like to grab a late lunch!

TIME: 2:00-4:00 p.m.

(Tours are every 15 minutes and commence at the Circulation Desk)
